OSI Maritime Systems (OSI) announced today the signing of a contract to provide the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) with its Ship Helicopter Operating Limits (SHOL) software module. Under the terms of this contract the SHOL module will be added to OSI’s ECPINS-W software that is deployed across the RAN fleet of warships.
The SHOL module automates a laborious and manual process that is critical to safe helicopter takeoffs and landings. This greatly improves the ability of the officer of the watch to conduct safe and effective flying operations through the error free application of the SHOL Flying Course Calculator.
The SHOL application is supported by an Editor Tool that provides operator’s with the ability to generate new SHOL patterns for existing aircraft and for when new aircraft come into service. The tool eliminates the reliance on third parties to generate patterns, giving the operator the ultimate flexibility to maximise the benefits of SHOL.
In addition, the Royal New Zealand Navy (RNZN) has deployed this capability and the company expects that many of their other customers will procure SHOL in the near future. The SHOL module is one of the many advanced tactical software modules available with OSI’s world leading ECPINS-W software.
OSI recently announced the signing of a contract with the Royal Australian Navy and Royal New Zealand Navy to provide in-service-support for the company’s systems and software, installed across their fleet of warships and submarines.
